About Me

Hello, I’m so glad you’re here.

A little about who I am, how I work, and what you can expect when we meet.

Gina Romblad Headshot

My name is Gina Romblad. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in Gainesville, Florida, and a Qualified Supervisor for Registered Clinical Social Work Interns. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Connecticut in 2014 and obtained my Florida clinical licensure in 2018.

I specialize in working with adults and adolescents navigating trauma, anger management, addiction, depression, and anxiety. My practice is also dedicated to supporting veterans and their families, guiding individuals through LGBTQIA+ challenges and identity exploration, improving communication skills, overcoming life obstacles, and fostering deep self-esteem.

I look forward to walking alongside you on this journey!

My Approach

I am passionate about helping others reach their mental health and recovery goals, cultivate healthy lifestyles, and thrive in their relationships. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real conversation—one where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and gently challenged.

To best support your unique path, I draw from a diverse range of evidence-based practices, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) & Gottman Method Couples Therapy
  • Motivational Interviewing & Strengths-Based Interventions
  • Mindfulness-Based Approaches & Art Therapy
  • Erik Erikson’s Stages of Psychosocial Development & Cultural Competency

I don’t believe therapy has to be rigid or stuffy. I welcome humor and laughter into our sessions, and I am committed to utilizing the specific tools and interventions that fit you best.

Who I Work With

I partner with adults, adolescents, and individuals of all genders who are motivated to invest in themselves, including:

  • Individuals navigating anxiety, depression, chronic stress, or burnout.
  • People moving through major life transitions or seeking deeper self-understanding and personal growth.
  • Survivors healing from past experiences and related trauma.
  • Couples interested in breaking old patterns and improving communication.
  • Individuals with a history of addiction who are highly motivated to maintain their sobriety.
  • Veterans and family members navigating the unique challenges of military life and transitions.

What to Expect

Our first step is a free 15-minute phone consultation. This gives us a chance to connect, chat briefly about what you’re looking for, and decide together if we are a good professional fit.

From there, full sessions are typically 50 minutes, held in a warm, confidential environment. I offer both in-person sessions and secure telehealth options, depending on what best fits your schedule and lifestyle.

Together, we will explore your goals so we can tailor our time to your specific needs. If you aren’t sure what those goals are yet, that is completely normal. You don’t have to have it all figured out to take the next step—you just have to be willing to begin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my trauma too much for you?

Not at all. I am deeply trained in trauma-informed care. We can utilize modalities like EMDR or narrative therapy to safely explore and process whatever you bring to the table at a pace that feels secure for you.

Are you going to judge me?

Nope! I believe in keeping it “real” with my clients, and I value authenticity, mutual respect, and a bit of well-timed laughter in the therapy room.

Do you take my insurance?

I am currently credentialed with Aetna, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Quest Behavioral Health.

I am currently in the credentialing pipeline and waiting on approval for Florida Blue, Florida Blue Medicare Advantage, Oscar, Optum, and United Healthcare. If I am out-of-network for you, I can gladly provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, and I offer a sliding fee scale for private pay clients.

Can I bring snacks?

Definitely! Please do. There is also a complimentary coffee bar right when you enter the office building, so feel free to grab a drink on your way in.

What if we just don’t “click”?

I won’t be offended at all! The therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in your healing. If we start working together and you feel like we aren’t a perfect match, I am more than happy to help connect you with a trusted colleague who might better fit your specific needs.

Is our work confidential?

Yes. Everything we discuss is strictly confidential, governed by HIPAA and professional ethics. The only exceptions are legal mandates regarding safety—specifically, if you are at imminent risk of harming yourself or someone else.

How often should I come to therapy?

This depends entirely on your schedule, budget, and clinical needs. It can range anywhere from weekly to once every other month, though every other week (bi-weekly) is the most common pace for steady momentum.
